HOLISTIC PHYLOSOPHY
The origins of Thai massage date back over 2,500 years. It is an ancient therapeutic art that has its roots in Indian Ayurvedic medicine. The word ayurveda comes from two Sanskrit words: ayur (life) and veda (knowledge). Thus, Ayurvedic science can be considered as a guide to the adequate maintenance of life. The founding father of Thai massage, Jivaka Kumarbhaccha, was a renowned yogi and doctor in the tradition of Ayurvedic medicine. Thai massage or Nuad Boran has developed over millennia near Buddhist temples giving birth to a technique that allows people on the spiritual path to share the benefits of meditation and compassion through massage. It is a respected therapeutic art that is practiced and taught today in temples, universities and hospitals in Thailand. This art of touch is carried out on a mattress on the floor, and dressed in loose and comfortable clothes. The practitioner moves the client from one yoga posture to another, incorporating into the practice a traditional combination of massage, acupressure, working on the energy meridians, and gentle passive stretching. It is also often common to hear in Thailand that Nuad Boran is yoga for the lazy.
About me
My name is Emmy and I'm from Chiang Mai, Thailand. I graduated from the Lanna Thai medical massage school in Chiang Mai (380 hours) and from the Ecole de Santé de Suisse Romande (ESSR) where I took anatomy and physiology courses (150 hours). I am ASCA and RME approved and reimbursed by supplementary health insurance except CSS and Helsana (only with Completa Extra). I am a freelance masseuse and I can welcome you at the Institute of Natural Medicine. I teach Thai massage courses recognized as 20 hours of ASCA and RME continuing education (see tab massage classes).
National and International Champion in 2023
In April 2023, I obtained the bronze medal at the National and International Massage Championship, which took place in Fribourg, in the Free Style Massage category (See World Massage Council).
Emmy is a great therapist. She is totally dedicated and massages according to your needs. She’s also very understanding and flexible regarding her time.
